The Tear of Selûne - Waterdhavian Vessel

The Tear of Selûne is a three-deck, three-masted caravel, the last remaining ship of the Waterdhavian Moonstar merchant fleet. Still making the trip between the City of Splendors and Chult twice a year, it is a stalwart vessel with ample room for cargo and passengers.

Amella Venkalli, Captain
A slight but powerful woman with fine blonde hair tied neatly back from her forehead, Amella dresses to fight and sail rather than to please the eye. A thin scar graces her right cheek. Amella is rather foul-mouthed, fond of uttering oaths only heard in the worst dockside taverns. Confident, haughty, and astute, she does not suffer fools gladly. She makes few attachments, having buried one husband.
Jakob Weathersby, First Mate
The First Mate keeps morale high, supervises, and disciplines the crew.  A middle-aged Chondathan male with shoulder-length dark hair, Jakob has lived on the sea his whole life.  As a cabin boy, he sailed the Sea of Fallen Stars, eventually making his way to the Sword Coast as he climbed the ranks.  He signed on with the Moonstars at the start of the Year of Three Ships Sailing (1492 DR).
Lirith Veldirose, Ship’s Wizard
The Ship’s Wizard utilizes their spells to aid with both seafaring and combat. Lirith looks like a young lass, but her confidence and arcane power may make you question that. She is rarely seen without her pseudodragon familiar, Brymu. Based in Baldur’s Gate, she was hired by the Moonstars through the Flaming Fist mercenary company to join the Tear of Selûne’s late season trip to Chult.
Lars Moroder, Bosun
The Bosun (boatswain) provides technical advice to the captain and crew and leads repair and maintenance efforts.  Salt and pepper hair frames a greying beard on this older sea dog.  Lars has served the Moonstars for many years, not that many legitimate businesses would deal with his frequent drunken tavern brawling.  After the last First Mate was lost to pirates, Lars expected the position would be his… then it went to Jakob.
Urol Forol, Quartermaster
The Quartermaster plots the ship’s course, relying on knowledge of nautical charts and a study of weather and sea conditions. Urol is a bent old gnome that constantly squints when he looks. He carries the odor of the land about with him, an odor that most find not to pleasant. He is talkative and chipper except when the subject of the natural world comes up, whereupon he flies into a frenzy of excited stuttering bliss, expounding upon obscure and often strangely fascinating (to him, at least) bits of lore.
Skald, Cook
The Cook works with the limited ingredients aboard a ship to make meals. Skald is a shifty-looking, hunch-shouldered character with pale skin, a nasal voice, and unsettling eyes. Yet despite appearances he has shown himself to be an honorable, dependable and courageous man. Skald keeps his reasons for joining the crew to himself, although rumor is he is fleeing something, maybe the law or something more deadly.
Brother Feres, Chaplain
The Chaplain tends to injuries, keeps illnesses from spreading, and oversees sanitation.  Most ships this size would only have a healer on board as the ship’s surgeon, but the Moonstars’ long relationship with the church of Selûne has allowed them to retain the services of a clergyman on their expeditions to Chult.  Brother Feres often volunteers for the assignments, enjoying getting out of the city for a time.
Roland Nesk, Cabin Boy
The Cabin Boy is an assistant to the captain and messenger amongst the crew. A slight youth with unusual blond hair and sharp features. His accent is hard to place. He is constantly infused with a sense of wonder, enthusiasm and optimism.
