Lost in Time
Sigismund had had enough, it was time to leave. Sig, Thaminor, Maekon and Miko walked out the front door and approached the gates of the hospital grounds. With no one attempting to stop them, the group opened the gates and beheld a wall of mist roughly 30 feet away from the hospital grounds. Maekon commented that it was a very poor idea to enter the mist. Rethinking their course of action, the group rejoined the rest of the party in the main hall.
Meanwhile, Pix cast invisibility on himself to evade the orderlies who had obviously been instructed to keep tabs on him. Pix then began exploring the building. He met up with T’sai and Raynard outside and informed them of the location of the master suite, which had been locked. T’Sai and Raynard went upstairs to investigate the master suite while Pix looked around the garden & shrine area.
Another shift occurred, dropping the party back into the manor house reality. Lord Ashington was considerably testy with the group for dropping in and out of the dinner party. Rozleen appeared terrified and as if she had been stabbed in the side. Upon seeing Rozleen’s injury, Sig demanded she be released. Ashungton refused and a melee broke out between Sig, Thaminor, Sildar, and Sum against Ashington and his three flunkies. One of the female guests attacked Maekon and was summarily dispatched with Maekon barely missing a beat in her musical accompaniment to the battle.
Before the battle could be concluded, another shift brought the party back to the hospital. T’sai and Raynard remained upstairs, Pix was locked in a cell with an obviously disturbed individual and the rest of the party found themselves in the main hall being questioned by the Administrator. He was quite concerned about the group’s physical injuries and even more so about their mental state, as they had quite clearly inflicted the injuries on themselves. He demanded the group disarm immediately in order for his staff to safely treat them. Thaminor surrendered his weapons, including some items T’sai had liberated from the master suite. This escalated the Administrator’s ire and when Sig refused to disarm, he ordered a large group of orderlies to retrain the group.
The ensuing melee left Thaminor in restraints, Sig restrained and in a cell and Sildar dead. Of course, reality shifted back to the manor… Ashington was alone in the main hall. Sum, whi had been hiding on the ceiling, lost his grip and landed right in front of Ashington who promptly ran him through. Thaminor snapped his restraints and launched himself at Ashington. Sig freed himself and hurried back to the main hall. Things did not go well but eventually Ashington was defeated without any party fatalities. The last flunky was discovered in the basement, apparently burying the dead, including Rozleen. Thaminor and Sum quickly dispatched him and brought Rozleen’s body upstairs.
Further exploration of the manor revealed an extensive Occult/Arcane library in Ashington’s private study. The outdoor shrine was also found to be intact, although no one could identify the goddess it was dedicated to. Sig made the decision to bury Ashington and Rozleen in front of the shrine. The party then found itself at odds with Sig wanting to bury all of the possessions with the bodies and T’sai arguing against just casually burying what were obviously magical items.
