Out of the Shadows
Lost in shadows, the group had no idea when, or if, they would be returning to Westhill. After an indeterminate length of time, the shadows coalesced into a fog and a tunnel opened up in front of the group. As they began moving forward through the tunnel, it was obviously closing behind them. Eventually the group found themselves standing before the remnants of a large gate set into a stone wall.
With a wall of mist behind them and an open courtyard in front, the party, joined by Sildar, ventures into this new location, for they are very obviously not in the Realms anymore. Investigating the ruins, the party finds a group of ruffians tormenting a young woman. Before they can act, everyone experiences a wrenching pain and reality appears to shift. The group finds themselves within the same structure but it is now intact and appears to be a hospital of some sort.
While speaking to the person who seems to be in charge, another reality shift occurs…and the group again finds themselves in the ruins of the building with Sigismund alone surrounded by the ruffians. A fight breaks out, the villains are defeated and the young woman is rescued. Her name is Miko and the bandits kidnapped her on the road to her home. She has no knowledge of the reality shifts until the next one occurs and she shifts with the party.
After several more shifts and a small amount of exploration the party concludes they are travelling through time. They experienced the ruins, the hospital and what appeared to be the original state of the manor. In the original state, the group met Lord Ashington a rather unwholesome noble who seems to have been the owner of the manor and whom every “main” personality they met closely resembled.
Ashington was threatening a young Vistani woman, Rozeleen, who resembled Miko and after the inevitable shift, the group met Maekon. Maekon introduced herself as a traveling minstral and offered small bits of information in between large bits of ridicule. She stated the group and situation were both greatly amusing and interesting to her so she would remain close to see how things played out.
Eventually, Sigismund grew frustrated at the lack of solid information and decided it was time to leave the manor. The night ended with the party about to walk out the front doors, Miko and Maekon in tow. Sildar has been with the party since leaving the mists but the old woman from Westhill was not and her whereabouts remain a mystery.
