Turgen Pead - NPC - Phandelver Mine - Forge of Spells

Turgen Pead was born to a clan of nomads in the Sword Mountains. When he was a young boy, something murdered his clan in the night. He was found, raised, and trained in the magical arts by a hermit wizard that came upon him the next day.  When the hermit passed, Turgen left the mountains and came upon the town of Westhill. There, he took jobs escorting caravans back and forth with Neverwinter.

In the Autumn of 1490 DR, Turgen Pead signed on with Gundren Rockseeker when he hired an escort for supplies leaving Neverwinter.  Little did he know what friends he would make and what adventures awaited him!

Over the next several months, Turgen traveled alongside T’Sai, Sir Sigismund, and other adventurous souls in the events leading up to securing the area around Westhill and the reclamation of Phandalin Mine.  He formed the strongest bond with T’Sai, and the two could often be found sharing a fine ale before or after their adventures.

Turgen was not just a wandering adventurer, he was a compassionate soul.  When the party came upon a helpless goblin being tortured for entertainment by a gang of bugbears, he took responsibility for the little guy’s life—bringing Droop back to Westhill for a new life (and a bath!).

Turgen assisted with clearing the Old Owl Well of undead, eliminating an orc raiding party that was operating out of Wyvern Tor, defeating the Cragmaw goblinoid tribe and Redbrand ruffians that plagued the area, and rescuing Gundren from the Black Spider’s web.  In the lost mine of Phandalin, however, he sadly met his end when they encountered a deadly flameskull…

Or so we thought.  As it turns out, Turgen was raised into undeath by the Spectator guardian of the Forge of Spells to serve as its new Spellmaster.  While he may not be able to travel with our party in this world any longer, he is still with them in spirit…
