System Guidelines
- Dungeons & Dragons – 5th Edition
- Wizards of the Coast official, Unearthed Arcana, and DM’s Guild materials are allowed.
- You may use whatever character sheet you’d like. We recommend FA’s Character Generator/Sheets in digital (Excel) or pencil (PDF).
- Character Stats: 4d6, drop the lowest, then assign.
- Starting Gear: you may take both the starting gold, and the gear provided by your Background. Anything listed in the PHB may be purchased with the starting gold. If your new character is joining at higher than 1st level, add 20gp/level and 1 common magic item/3 levels (with DM approval). You may also trade 2 common items for 1 uncommon, or 4 common items for 1 rare.
Character Profiles
- Complete the Character Profile to submit info for your profile page.
- Complete the Character Questionnaire to guide you to adding depth to your character.
- The info from the Profile and Questionnaire will be formatted into your Personæ profile and a cooperative document with the DM.
House/Adopted Rules
-
- Advancing Character Levels: Characters will advance in level based on story milestone achievement.
- Advancing Character Hit Points: Roll your class hit die to determine your character’s hit points at level up. However, you may take your class average/fixed hit points if that amount is more than your roll.
- Spells with Cost: Some spells fit the design of lower levels but are only suitable for wealthy spellcasters. These spells need gemstones or components outside of the requirements of using an arcane focus or components pouch. Gemstone costs may be met with single or multiple gemstones (ie 100gp gem, or 2x 50gp gems).
- Strongholds: Guidelines for stronghold building.
- Downtime Activities: Guidelines for “off screen” activities.
- Knowledge and Research: Guidelines for learning lore and information.
- Potions can be taken yourself as a bonus action, and results are rolled. Potions taken yourself as a full action give max value.
- Critical Damage: if your melee or ranged attack roll is a critical hit, add maximum damage for your critical die roll. If your spell attack roll is a critical hit, you may refill any 1s or 2s on your damage dice.
