To Break a Curse
An accord had been reached. The bodies would be buried, including all possessions and Sig would speak his words. If it appeared nothing happened, everything would be exhumed and collected. Thus, the funeral rite took place. Rozleen’s ghost appeared and thanked the group for giving her a proper burial, breaking the curse and freeing the party from the time loop.
Rozleen asked that her Tarroka deck be returned to her tribe, as it was a family heirloom and then disappeared. Maekon advised that the area would soon disappear, as the forces holding it together were now dispersed. In fact, the area was already rapidly aging and decaying. The various valuables were quickly retrieved from the grave as the party shot through time and space once more. Thaminor’s bonded weapons returned to him as he advanced through the realities but the rest of the items given up at the hospital remained forfeit.
Soon enough, the party retreated back into the mists wondering what or who might be lost next. It was not long before they were set upon by creatures appearing to be made from the mist itself and resembling the fierce shadow mastiffs they had faced before. The group prevailed and moved on, only to be attacked by another pack of the mistborn horrors.
Eventually, after an unknown amount of time, the party emerged into a forest. Having no point of reference, they wearily pushed forward, hoping they were moving in a direction that would lead them to some sort of civilization. Peace was not to be had, however, as they were accosted by a pack of dire wolves. The animals were dispatched but when the Ranger began the skin one, Miko reacted with alarm. She was appalled that anyone, especially a Ranger, would defile the corpse of a wolf.
Maekon explained Miko was from Kartakoss and wolves of all types were venerated to the point that some common folk would not even defend themselves if attacked. Raynard respected her convictions and left the corpses unmolested any further. The party moved on, only to be attacked by yet another pack of dire wolves.
Maekon stated that given the prevelance of canine activity and the nature of the terrain, it was safe to say they had found their way to Kartakoss. Once the party managed to get their bearings, Maekon guided them Harmonia, one of the major cities of the region and Miko’s home. With daylight fading, the weary group finds itself approaching the gates of Harmonia, wondering what new challenges await.
